Ensure proper amounts of aggregate are utilized by asking your potential contractor how many tons of aggregate are required, BEFORE you contract out for services. This is particularly important in sand mound and sand filter areas, because the sand is the material to renovate effluent of septic systems. When less aggregate is used, improper filtering will occur with a premature failure likely. With proper maintenance, your septic system should last indefinitely.

Ask for delivery tickets from your contractor to insure you have received proper amounts of sand or stone!
