Installation of spray risers
(Spray Irrigation Systems)

Be sure your contractor has installed stone around the distribution lines for two very good reasons:

First, so that the plastic distribution line is not crushed by the weight of the backfill

Second, the stone acts as a weep to drain the spray riser after the pumps shut off. If draining does not occur, the riser and nozzle is susceptible to freezing in cold weather. (Common in this part of Pennsylvania and colder climates).

Not installing is a common cost cutting measure that will weaken the effectiveness of your spray irrigation system.
DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!

Ask your contractor how he backfills your plastic pipe and spray riser.
